Reflexology in the workplace

In a MORI poll, stress was cited as having a negative effect on the health of over a third of the working population.  It is estimated that up to 75% of illnesses are stress-related.

The effects of stress:

·         Substantially reduced efficiency and accuracy of work produced

·         Reduced performance in physical tasks

·         Negative effect on abstract planning, decision-making and creativity

·         Tiredness and irritability

·         Weakening of the immune system and the development of physical illness

Countries like Denmark, have been addressing the problem of stress in the workplace for a number of years.  Danish occupational health services have been working closely with employers to provide a flexible approach to the reduction of stress and work related illness.  As part of this initiative, some firms now involve complementary therapists in the maintenance of well-being amongst their workforce.  Reflexology has proved to be a very popular solution to stress at work..

Firms in the UK are now beginning to recognize the benefits of offering reflexology to their staff.  They include such organisations as multi-nationals, city councils, marketing and PR companies, football teams,  department stores, schools, hospitals and many small businesses.

How can reflexology benefit your company?

Regular reflexology treatments not only help to reduce stress and tension, but they can also speed recovery from a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses.  Benefits to your company can include:

·         Increased morale, satisfaction and loyalty of the staff

·         Enhanced concentration, efficiency and accuracy

·         Improved creativity, planning and decision making

·         Pain relief for stress related conditions, such as headaches, migraine etc

·         Better relationships among staff and between staff management

·         The ability of staff to cope more effectively under pressure

·         Enhanced staff resilience and resistance to infection and disease

Reduced sickness and absenteeism, increased productivity and financial benefits for the company are the visible results.  Less obvious, perhaps, are the positive effects on morale among employees who feel they are being treated with respect and a caring attitude.

How it works:

All I need is a quiet room to work in. I will provide everything else: a massage table, oils, low music, towels etc.
For the best results, I recommend a minimum treatment time of 30-35 minutes per client. I can be booked for a minimum of 2 hours upwards.
Treatments can be funded by the employer, part-subsidised or paid for by employees.
